OCTOBER 2009

October is here. The BIG show is just around the corner, Ironman World Champoinship in Kona HI. Unfortunitly, I am not going to making it this year. Had some finance problems so, I WILL be there next year. Good Luck to all I know and all I have had the pleasure to work with over the last year. Have fun and work hard next Saturday.
Anyway, we have some good plans for the month. One big thing is to just get caught up at the office and work on the book and finish up my sports class before November. When travel starts back up. I also have a couple of local race to work and The Team has a few races to do as well. So, that should keep us bizy for 4 weeks. Then off to Panama City Beach for Ironman Florida.

The Triathlon Team

Hello, just want to share some things that are happening with The Center 4 Muscle Recovery. Within the next couple of months I will have my first book out, for you endurance athletes it will be a good but easy read. Also, I would like to let you know about our Triathlon team. I will be introducing the members and our sponsors more over the next few weeks. We have 12 members for now coming from as far as Boulder Co, and Atlanta GA to Orlando Fl and St Petersburg FL.
We have 9 great sponsors and we support 2 charities. The sponsors are: Rogers Cleaner, Action WheelSports, Physicain's Pain Relief Cream, The Center 4 Muscle Recovery, Hawk Racing, CEP, Trigger Point Technology, Profile Design, And CeraSport.
Our Charities we support are RACC and 6 in the City. We had 5 athletes racing this past weekend in Augusta GA at the Augusta 70.3 and here is the race report:

The Center 4 Triathlon Team had its first race September 27, 2009 in Augusta Ga. The Augusta 70.3 was a great success for the team. The weather was prefect, overcast at race start with mild winds. As the race developed the sun did come out and it got a little warm but nothing toO bad. As the course goes, they had a with the current swim which helped everyone have fast swim splits. The Bike was hilly but nothing crazy and the run course was all through the city which made it very easy to watch. We had 5 team members racing all but one raced a sub 6 hour Half Ironman. Our stand outs were Paul Duckett from Orlando FL he put down a 4:23 that’s an awesome time and Dwight Watkins from St Petersburg FL had a 4:55 which as the story goes was awesome as well. Dwight had a mechanical issue, somewhere on the bike his seat clamp broke so he hold on with you know his butt. Then with 5 miles left on the bike the seat fell off. So, the last 5 miles on the bike he had his seat in his hand and was standing up… OMG!!!!
Is that not incredible!!!!
In all the entire race turn out very well. We want to thank all of our sponsors who helped make this Triathlon Team work. Please check the team sponsor page on the web site ( www.thecenterfour.com ) for more information. Our next race where some of the team will be racing is Suncoast Tri at Ft Desoto, Long Leaf Tri in North Tampa, 70.3 World championships in Clearwater FL and Ironman Florida in Panama City FL. See you at the races, Thanks for your support!

AWESOME TO LIVE IN FLORIDA!!!

Although I love what the north has to offer, I couldn't live there. You know; the change of season, how beautiful the snow can be, and the change of colors in the fall. The non-flat landscape to train on and the warm (not BLAZING HOT) summer days. Well, it's February and I can train outside. That's why I live in Florida. I'll visit the rest of the north when I come to your town to work an Ironman. Hope you all are having a great winter.

LIFE IS GOOD!!!!!

Today was a GREAT day!!!! I got a new face on the web page. I'm starting to figure out life a little more. My vision of where I want my company (The Center 4 Muscle Recovery) to go is becoming clearer. The list goes on and on. My Wisconsin trip was very successful. It was the first annual RACC MULTISPORT EXPO. Cole Braun put on a good show. I hope to see more people out there next year.
While at the expo I met many fantastic people. I even made a coaching connection in the Midwest!!! One of the coolest things I saw was the 8 Hour team time trail on the Computrainer. It looked awesome!!! On Sunday, there was a 5K. I have one word to describe that: COLD!!! No really, the cold started on Friday and "warmed up" during the weekend to about 35 by race day.
When I got back from the expo, I had a couple of days to regroup before I left to begin working the first of 7 triathlon camps: Heather Gollnick's IronEdge Tri Camp for Women. I was there at different parts throughout the week to provide the athletes with massage as well as to speak to them about the benefits of recovery and massage. We had a great week. This week there are 2 more camps I will be working: NRG Performance Training (http://www.nrgpt.com/) with Canadian Nigel Gray, and then back with Heather and IronEdge Coaching in Bradenton. As I said LIFE IS GOOD.

TODAY @THE OFFICE

It was a long day at the office. Getting ready for the RACC Multisport Expo in Wisconsin this weekend. It's a lot of work getting all this put together. I did, however, come up with a few new statements for the company. We redefined some things and they are:
APPLIED PERFORMANCE SPORTS MASSAGE
"IT'S NOT JUST A MASSAGE IT'S A DISTINCT ADVANTAGE"
"WE CREATE GREAT ATHLETES"

MIAMI MARATHON

I truly think i own VERY marathon runner I work with and all that that haven't an apology for not taking the Marathon Lenght rice with the respect that it deserves.. I AM SORRY.
I started this morning in Miami to do a Marathon with little to NO training. And thought I could do it. Well, as it turns out it not that easy. I ended up doing the Half Marathon in 3:30 ish. I felt very sad when mile 11 came around and there was no way I was doing the Full. I KNOW I could have done more in my training. I now have a new respect for all of you Marathoner. I will never take another Marathon race as lightly as I did.

SO FAR SO GOOD 2009

Wow!!! its 5 days into the new year and all is well. Word of advise, don't take to long off of training. It proves to be a bit difficult getting started. However, I have been back to training for 3 week and I am in love with the way it makes you feel when you are done for the day. Rode 5 hours this weekend and did so strenght work. Going to start running today and hopefully swim sometime this week.
Speaking if training and advise, you all should know that I am real big into Triathlon and I am in studies of the sport. Studying the way the body/musscles work through the event.
Here is my first bit of advise on that manner: it winter and for most of us its off season. So, the training volume is at a lesser importance. The advise is to redefine your body mechanics.
Redefine and refine your artfulness. If you look at some of the real good triathletes they look like a peice of art when they are on the race course.
As we go through this year I have little pointer/advise about what you can look like a peice of ART on the race course.
